INTRODUCTION TO ENCAUSTIC PAINTING
Encaustic painting, or hot wax painting, is a technique of applying pigmented, heated beeswax to a surface, usually prepared wood. This workshop will introduce participants to the ancient technique of encaustic painting and use modern methods to experiment with textures and effects. Each participant will work on their own panel. Registration is required and space is limited.  Cost covers all materials.

JEWELRY WORKSHOP
Participants will learn basic sawing, piercing and filing techniques used in jewelry making then have the option to create a bracelet, earrings, pendant or necklace from copper or brass.

FROM PRINT TO RELIEF CONSTRUCTION
This workshop will encourage participants to think creatively and push the boundaries between medium and form. The emphasis of the workshop is to explore relationships between 2D and 3D media. In the first two sessions participants will explore innovative aspects of collagraph process by making and printing collagraph plates. The final session will be devoted to exploring creative possibilities of transforming the plates and the prints into 3D objects by folding, cutting and joining.
Feel free to bring textured wallpaper, fabric, lace, foil or similar material of your choice for making collagraph plates. Most importantly bring ideas.
