Location: Charlotte, NC
Pam received her BA in Art Education from Florida State University. She has taught art for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools since 1991 and is National Board Certified. Pamela is our sixth Art Teacher Resource Resident. Pam's design emphasis is on non-objective imagery, texture, and pattern in jewelry forms. Her work focuses on use of metal clay combined with traditional metalsmithing and the exploration of alternative materials and techniques. Acquisition of numerous grants and awards has assisted Pam in her on-going pursuance of her jewelry design interests, studying with recognized instructors at Arrowmont, Penland, and through the Florida Society of Goldsmiths. Since her residency, Pam has received a 2007 regional Arts & Science Council Emerging Artist Project Grant, has taught jewelry related classes for the McColl Center and local and state art teachers, and has had work featured in two published books, Making Metal Beads and Metal Clay Beads.
