///JULIA LATANE : SCULPTOR

Julia holds a BFA from the University of Arizona, Tucson. She constructs sculptures out of synthetic material - drawn to synthetics because of their shiny plastic nature. Though her work visually refelcts an iconographic, cartoonish style, the subject matter comes from nature. She is interested in how things grow, how forms develop over time as well as numerical patterns and sets. Like fairy tales, Julia sees her work as a kind of escapism...a refuge from the mundane, a reminder of the wonderful.
