Leticia is a painter who was recently commissioned by the Charlotte Area Transit System for a public piece for the light rail system. She received her BFA from the University of Texas at San Antonio and her MFA from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. Her work is mixed media on paper. Often, she incorporates paint, wax, tar or shellac with other diverse materials incorporating text as a found object taken from popular media. Her work deals with personal investigations, memory and a search for meaning in daily life. In essence, it is a visual diary where she records dreams, events, and ordinary transactions with the material world. Leticia's residency is funded by the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS).
