///GWEN BIGHAM : INSTALLATION, PAINTING, PRINTMAKING, SCULPTURE

Gwen Bigham was born in Lancaster, South Carolina, and received her BFA from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Her work includes installation, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Her sculptures represent the importance of individual experience and the sharing of that experience through the universality of form, texture, sound, and space. Gwen's art is often a quiet commentary on the position of women in our society. She employs the physical qualities of various materials to recall different aspects of the human condition. Gwen is a recipient of the 2002 International Sculpture Center Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award.
