///KRISTIN J. ST. MARTIN : PHOTOGRAPHY

Kristen J. St. Martin, McColl Center for Visual Art’s fourth Art Teacher Resource Resident, is an art teacher at Vance High School in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System. In 1998, she completed a BFA in photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. She explores her surroundings through photography, documenting the destruction of the environment and the encroachment of commercialism on various cultures. She has traveled to Britain, France, Italy, Belize and Guatemala and hopes future trips will lead to Asia. She feels she has learned valuable lessons from her interactions with cultures that have maintained their way of life despite pressure to embrace consumerism.
