///JUDY KENSLEY MCKIE : FURNINTURE-MAKING, SCULPTURE, PAINTING
Location: Cambridge, MA
A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Judy completed a BFA at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1966 and continues to live and create her unusual furniture art in the greater Boston area. An extraordinarily graceful fusing of form and function characterize Judy's furniture, whether in wood or bronze. Stylized birds, fish, and other various animals are carved into walnut, limewood, maple, and basswood or cast in bronze to become contemporary chairs, chests, and tables. Her choice of scale and material together with delicately rendered figures result in works of a signature elegance. Judy used her time at McColl Center to complete a public art commission for the Garden of Peace that will serve as a memorial to victims of homicide.
