Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mark now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a photographer with a BS in Biomedical Photography from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, an MFA , as well as an MA in Humanities from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He divides his time between medical/scientific photography and his more personal documentary projects, which he classifies as visual sociology. His residency at the McColl Center was based at the Carolina HealthCare Center where he applied his imaging skills to the concept of the medical profession treating the person, not just the patient.
