Nick Cave’s intricate, layered sculpture incorporates fibers, found objects and cultural artifacts and transforms them into a visual feast, bombarding viewers with sensuous colors, textures and forms. Rooted in the ties between cultural history, personal identity and fashion Cave’s work reveals both physical and spiritual transformation. Nick Cave received his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and was the subject of a solo show Meet Me At The Center Of The Earth at Yerba Buena Center For The Arts in San Francisco. He is currently on faculty at School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
