///DAWN BLACK : PAINTING

Transforming images of people and luxury objects she finds online, Dawn Black challenges perceptions of authentic identity by liberating the subjects of her water, ink, gouache and pencil portraits through masquerade. Black earned a BFA in Painting from Louisiana State University of School of Art and an MFA in painting and Sculpture from University of Iowa School of Art and Art History. She has exhibited nationally and recently completed a residency at Lawndale Art Center in Houston, Texas.
