///ALLISON LUCE : CERAMICS

Location: Charlotte, NC
Allison Luce explores the ephemeral nature of existence and the mystery of eternity in her ceramic sculptures. Using clay as a metaphor for the body, she creates hollow structures that are symbolic of the body and soul. Luce graduated with dual BFA degrees in Painting and Art History from Ohio University. In 2001, she received her MFA from Hunter College, City University of New York and continued to live in the New York City metro area pursuing a career in art until 2006. She currently lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina where she is a studio artist at Clayworks Studio and Gallery, Inc. and an adjunct ceramics instructor. She has shown her work in solo and group exhibitions and her work is included in private collections. During the summer of 2009, she will be a Resident Artist for three months at the International Ceramic Research Center in Skaelskor, Denmark.
