///KATHY BRUCE : ENVIRONMENTAL
Location: New York, NY
Environmental Artist-in-Residence
Kathy Bruce creates site-specific sculpture and installation projects that explore archetypal female forms within the context of environmental issues. These works incorporate allusions to symbols of women from the earliest civilizations interpreted and placed in a contemporary, public context within nature. Bruce employs natural, recycled, and live-plant materials and will work with the Center’s EAIR Team to bring a remedial quality to the installation she will create in Charlotte. Her work engages the community informing them of universal associations that reinforce the relationship of humans with the Earth. Kathy Bruce received her MFA from Yale University, School of Art and Architecture. Her previous residencies include I-Park, Stone Quarry Hill and The Land/Artsite. She is a two time Fulbright Grant recipient.
