///TIM MCMAHON : PAINTING

I'm in my 31st year of teaching secondary art. We live to paint in our studio on 24th st in Charlotte. After 2 stints at the McColl Center my work is maturing. I try to balance the expressive and descriptive aspects of the landscapes. I work large with large brushes and bold, lyrical color. I travel the wild places, documenting the mountains, rivers, oceans and the trails I hike. In the studio I attempt to capture the spirit of those places. I see flowers as beautiful abstractions. I try to show their beauty with brush marks and strong color.
