///BARBARA SCHREIBER : PAINTING

Since receiving her BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), eleven-month Affiliate Artist Barbara Schreiber has participated in more than 20 solo and 100 group exhibitions at PS 1 in New York, the High Museum of Art, Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, Weatherspoon Art Museum, Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, Telfair Museum of Art, American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, the Sorbonne and numerous other venues. Schreiber creates colorful paintings that combine an innocent style with disturbing imagery. "Over the years," says Schreiber, "my paintings have touched on a variety of subjects, including travel, small animals, sex, death, thwarted expectations and things in the backyard."
