When asked about his time at the Center, Kapsner said:
"I think getting away from my studio provided a blank slate—free of the distractions inherent in one’s own space. My experience opened the door to a great collaboration with the North Carolina Dance Theater—especially with the dancers who so graciously and beautifully modeled for me. Working with artists of another venue has been productive. The compositions created in partnership with the dancers have taken on a contemporary feel—the human form juxtaposed with geometric or semi-architectural shapes in a higher light scheme has been pleasing—but time consuming to create."
