///SARAH KLEIN : NEW MEDIA AND PERFORMANCE
Location: Oakland, CA
Sarah Klein is a video and performance artist who lives inOakland, California. Klein's work blends art and everyday life by focusing on food, home, and community through workshops, videos, books and lectures. She is especially inspired by the process, history, and community surrounding bread. Drawn to domesticity and the rituals of everyday life, Klein often combines video, sound, performance and drawing to investigate processes related to food traditions. Bread is also used as a tool for exploring and interpreting the competition and consumption that often accompanies human nature. Klein received her BA and MFA from Mills College, Oakland, CA. She has participated in numerous residencies, including the Headlands Center for the Arts in California.
