Celebrating New Work and Longstanding Partnerships

Before the chaos of the holiday season begins, enjoy art, refreshments and live music by Deebs & Dabbs at the opening reception for new work by our 11-month Affiliate Artists, Darren Goins and Diane Hughes. Join us Friday, November 20 from 6-9pm.

While Darren and Diane will be with us through March 2010, this reception does mark the conclusion of a wonderful 2009 fall residency term. It is an ideal time to visit the Center, see the work completed by our Artists-in-Residence during their time here and find out where they’re going and what they’re doing next. During the opening reception, the Center will also recognize and celebrate our important, dynamic and longstanding partnership with UNC-Charlotte. This fall was full of examples of how the Center and UNCC work together to bring art and artists to the Charlotte community: artist Sonja Hinrichsen completed a fascinating Mapping Charlotte project with a class of art students at UNCC. It is also a great time to catch or revisit the Decade + Collected exhibition, an exciting and eclectic mix of mediums, viewpoints, scale and aesthetics. The reception is free and open to the public - we hope to see you Friday!
