Since mid-January, the Center has enjoyed the creative energy brought on by our new group of Artists-in-Residence. A three-question interview with Matthew Steele, Mary Giehl and Felicia van Bork might offer you a sneak peek of their personalities. Come meet them for yourself on Open Studio Saturday!

Join us Tuesday, January 17 from 6 to 7:30 PM and hear from each one of our resident artists during a special presentation in the boardroom.

Margarita Cabrera is a Mexican-American artist and organizer whose objects and activities address timely issues linked to border politics, labor issues and immigration. She will begin her residence at McColl Center for Visual Art on January 9, 2012 as the Center’s Knight Artist-in-Residence. Before she arrives at the Center, her work can be seen in The Space in Between exhibit at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem, NC through February 19, 2012. Keep reading for more info about the artist and her work.

We invite you to join us Friday, September 23 from 6 to 9 PM for an Opening Reception as McColl Center for Visual Art celebrates the arrival of our newest resident artists and exhibit, “Elements”.
