
ART DAYS ON WORK DAYS

McColl Center for Visual Art in partnership with the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is offering a creative way for students to spend their CMS Teacher Workdays. Specifically for grades 4, 5, and 6, students will spend the morning at the Bechtler exploring their collection of master works of art during a docent-guided tour. In the afternoon, students will return to McColl Center for Visual Art and work with a professional teaching artist to create stunning works of art inspired by the pieces they learned about in the morning. Sessions will be held on the following protected teacher workdays:
January 23, 2012 / 9 AM to 4 PM / Register Online
Design and created a ceramic mosaic inspired by Niki de Saint Phalle’s iconic Firebird.
March 30, 2012 / 9 AM to 4 PM / Register Online
Use simple machine concepts and found objects, students will create art in motion inspired by kinetic sculpture.
Cost Per Session: $112 Members / $140 Non-Members
Students must bring a bag lunch. Drop off and pick up is at McColl Center for Visual Art. Students will ride the Gold Rush trolley to and from the Bechtler Museum.
