Through the Lens: The Polaroids of Andy Warhol
Part II of the Contemporaries 2010 Photography Series
Saturday, July 31
10 AM to 6 PM

The Contemporaries are proud to present an art excursion to the Weatherspoon Art Museum in Greensboro for a private showing of "Big Shots: Andy Warhol Polaroids." Warhol is the most recognized American artist of the 20th Century, and this exhibition examines his rare photographs documenting the celebrities, outcasts, and socialites that populated his world in over 300 original Polaroids and gelatin silver prints.

This event is the second in the series "Through the Lens" exploring the photographed image as works of art. The Contemporaries will be treated to a walkthrough of the exhibition to learn about the artist, his working process, the value of the photographed image in his works, and the challenges of organizing an exhibition of this caliber.
